If You Have A Blog or RSS Feed
If you scroll down to the footer of this blog page you will notice quite a few new buttons, and this is what this article is going to focus on. Everyone here is focused on working from home, but we add a lot of information here in this blog about marketing, SEO, and other things. Our belief is they all come together and are essential for you to make money. In the previous article I talked about having a blog. It is something that everyone needs to look into for their website. Along with the blog comes a RSS feed. I am not going to get into detail on what RSS is, but I do want you to research it in Google. What I will say is RSS is another must for your website and especially your blog.
Now back to the buttons on our footer. If you search this blog and have read the articles you know how important backlinks to your website are. The article SEO and Backlinks gives you many ways to get quality backlinks. One of the things mentioned is directories. Directories are like mini search engines, and when you site is listed with one you can get some traffic and you will have a backlink from the site. There are also blog and RSS directories. These differ a little in the fact that they only show blogs or RSS Feeds. Pretty simple, but why are they important.
They are important because they give you more backlinks. If you have a website with a blog and RSS Feed then this is essential. You main website will get backlinks from using advice from previous articles. Now you need to start getting backlinks to other pages on your site. This will help your SEO big time and these are places where you can get more links. They work the same as a directory. They will give you backlinks and give your site more exposure.
Now I read some articles that claim you will explode your traffic by submitting to blog directories and RSS Feed directories. I will tell you that you might see a little traffic from these sites, but their main purpose is getting you backlinks. There are a ton of sites out there offering expensive RSS submitting software. I would spend the time to submit them manually, and not waste money on such software. If we find a software that works well and is free, or cost very little, we will tell you about it, but for now we have not found such a software. Most of these type sites have security features in place to keep these types of software from working anyway.
I have made a small list HERE, and I will put it on the Free Zone page. There are a lot more of these type sites out there, but this is a start. You can find more by searching Google. Remember that this will take time, but it is important for you to get exposure to your website and for you to get backlinks to your website’s pages. Most of them will ask you to put a button and link somewhere on your site. It won’t hurt anything, and most won’t list you unless you do. Our footer has about the maximum amount you would probably want on a page. If you use anymore you will slow down page loading time.
Some are reading this and wondering what this has to do with working at home. Our focus is for you to find a program or site on the first page and start making money with it. Then get yourself into more programs or sites, and start making even more money. As one of your final steps, we want you to have your own websites that are making money. The internet is always changing and if all your eggs are in one basket, you could get burned. Don’t rush, just start out slowly and build to these goals.
